Who We Are
BasisPoint Editorial is the desk behind Economy Insights. We are not licensed financial advisors and we do not manage anyone's money. What we do is read the economic data closely and explain what it means in language a non-professional can actually use.
We built Economy Insights because financial news tends to be either too jargon-heavy for regular readers or too shallow to be useful. The goal is to be the friend who actually knows this stuff — and gives you a straight answer instead of a disclaimer-filled non-answer.
What Economy Insights Is
Economy Insights is a daily blog covering the US economic news that moves markets and affects your finances. We go through the day's data releases, Fed communications, and market moves, then write up what actually matters — and why it should or shouldn't change what you do with your money.
The questions we try to answer with every post: What does this data point actually mean in plain English? How does it connect to what's already happening in the economy? And what, if anything, should a regular investor do about it?
